Friday Finds [2]

fridayfinds2014jFriday Finds is a weekly time (hosted by Should Be Reading) where we get to show off a great new book that we found! It can be any book you chose, whether it’s one you checked out from the library, saw on Goodreads, borrowed, ect. It doesn’t have to be a book you bought.

This week, my Friday Find is YOLO Juliet by William Shakespeare and Brett Wright. I came across this while perusing the Barnes and Noble’s website and just had to check it out.

Imagine: What if those star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet had smartphones? A classic is reborn in this fun and funny adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays!
Two families at war.
A boy and a girl in love.
A secret marriage gone oh-so-wrong.
and h8. The classics just got a whole lot more interesting. 😉
tl;dr A Shakespeare play told through its characters texting with emojis, checking in at certain locations, and updating their relationship statuses. The perfect gift for hip theater lovers and teens.
A glossary and cast of characters are included for those who need it. For example: tl;dr means too long; didn’t read.

Publishing Date: May 26th, 2015

Publisher: Random House Books for Young Readers

ISBN: 0553535390

This isn’t my normal type of book but I thought it looked and sounds so hilarious, it seems like a great pick me up book! It also seems very fitting since I read (and ended up acting out most of it) Romeo and Juliet for school last year, and I’m currently studying Othello. Honestly, now I’m quite excited for this to come out and will probably pick it up sometime soon!
