Month In Review | September 2015

October(2)I can’t believe it’s October! I know I say this in literally every monthly wrap up, but this year is just going by so fast. I can’t believe that 2015 is actually getting close to being done (and I’m still behind on my reading goal.)

October is one of my favorite months because I love the weather, the atmosphere, getting back into the swing of school, HALLOWEEN, ect. I’m just so excited. Anyways, my reading dipped a little bit because school hit me a little harder then I thought it would, especially now that I’ve started my college classes (this is the first week of my classes!).

BOOKS

Eh… I did okay this month, definitely not as good as I could’ve but all things considered I did okay. I’m finally getting through these darn books I was sent for review ages ago (I’m so sorry, the last is coming soon I promise). I read a total of four books and one e-novella this last month.

Books I read…

  • Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas | Book Talk
  • The Appeal of Evil by Pembroke Sinclair | Review
  • An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir | Review
  • The Fiery Trial by Cassandra Clare and Maureen Johnson
  • Dealing with Devils by Pembroke Sinclair | Review

I’m also about half way through Paper Towns, which I’ve been reading on the bus ride home from the college since it’s like an hour long, and Good Intentions which should be the next review I have up in the next couple of days.

BLOGGING

This last month I worked on redesigning my blog some, I’m not sure if you guys have noticed! I love my theme because it’s very minimalist and simple, which I love. So I decided on a few colors and made some new post banners and have started doing a new review format by adding book info before the review + quotes and colors (just figured how to do colors, haha!)

I love the new format and I think my blog looks so much nicer and professional, but still has some fun little spunk that gives it some personality. What do you guys think and is there anything else you would like to see different (like new categories, better organized, ect.)?

LOOKING AHEAD…

Like I mentioned before, I love October so I’m so excited for this season since all my favorite holidays are coming up. I should have some new reviews posted during this first week!

My plan of catching up on all my series in September didn’t really go to plan, so I’ll try to keep that again for October. I think Scarlet and Cress would be great reads this month. I also really need to get my hands on Six of Crows because I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about it so far.

So, I hope you guys had a good month and (potentially) a good return to school! Who else is excited to get into the upcoming holidays and most importantly, who else plans to dress up as book characters for Halloween??
