The weather is getting warmer, school is getting out for the summer, and I’m still behind on my reading challenge. So, basically everything is back to normal. However, while I am taking one class this summer, I do plan on reading a bunch and finally finishing/getting caught up on some series that I’m behind in! So, here’s an approximate list of what I plan on reading over the next 3-4 months.
The Land of Seconds
Welcome to the mystical world of the second boo in a series, which I apparently have many issues reading. I need to read the second book in many series, or so it seems.
Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray | Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine | Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor| A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas | The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski | The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson | Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard | Crimson Bound By Rosamund Hodge | Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman
Magical Firsts and Thirds
Most of these are series that are complete and I have yet to finish (or even start) for some unknown reason, but let the list commence!
Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor | The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski | The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson | Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge | The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan
Not A Series (Possibly), Yet Still Going to Read
Of course, depending on how much reading I can get done, or if I get tired of sequels, I’m going to need something else to read and that’s where all of these lovely books come in. Although some of these might be first books in a series with one book out.
Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin | The Martian by Andy Weir | Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira | We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson | Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman
Great TBR! The Martian is probably one of my all time favorites and like you I still have to read many of the sequels of the series I’ve started in the past. That includes just about every title on your TBR as well. š

Sequels are hard because you wait so long for them to come out and then they finally do, but new books! I know several bloggers who absolutely adore The Martian, so I should get to it soon š

It’s probably one of the reasons I try not reading a new series until at least one sequel is out… Although with some it’s hard to resist. I hope you will enjoy The Martian as much as I did!

That’s a good plan, although yes, sometimes it is quite hard to resist the appeal! I really hope I like it a lot also, I’ve heard so many good things.

I need/want to read a lot of these too! I’m hoping to get to Dreams of Gods and Monsters, Crimson Bound, The Diviners, Red Queen, The Winner’s Curse, The Hidden Oracle, Wolf by Wolf, and Love Letters to the Dead this summer. Maybe we could buddy read one? š
