This week’s topic is all about books that you’ll never read!
Whether it’s from a series that you have outgrown or don’t wish to continue, or they are popular books that just don’t interest you, let us know what you don’t plan on reading.
Please keep in mind these are my own opinions. If one of these books is your favorite book/series, please don’t be offended! They just aren’t books that I personally wish to read.
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead- I think over the last few months we’ve discovered that I am not Mead’s biggest fan. I simply have absolutely no desire to read her spin-off series considering all the ups and downs with the original.
The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan- Okay here’s the thing. I used to love Riordan’s books, and then something happened. I was so disappointed with Blood of Olympus, Sword of Summer was just okay, I absolutely hated The Hidden Oracle, and I can not get into his Kane Chronicles. Riordan is a bust for me now a days.
Aerie by Maria Dhavana Headley- Magonia was just too weird for me, and I have a suspicion that Aerie will yield very similar results.
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer- Yes, I’ve never read Twilight. I know, what a shocker! While I do enjoy a good vampire book, there is no part of me that wants to actually spend time to read the “OG” vampire book. Sorry Twihards.
The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare- A long time ago, I tried Black’s The Coldest Girl in Coldtown and couldn’t even finish it. I love Clare’s books, but I’ve also noticed through trial and error, that I don’t seem to enjoy collab books.
Bookish Things and Tea 
While I am a huge Richelle Mead fan, I think it’s a good call not to read Bloodlines if you didn’t enjoy Vampire Academy. Part of that series fun is the nostalgia of the original cast coming back.
And with Twilight…you aren’t missing much 😉 If you’ve seen the movie (which is not that great), you’ve got the gist 😉

Ah, so it seems I didn’t miss much then with the Twihard phase! My mom did make me watch it with her. 😂

haha no, it was a great read when you were a teen at the time. But the movie was a great adaption and pretty true to the novel.

Books by more than one author are tricky beasts aren’t they? The compromises that can be made lead for lacklustre reading. We completely agree with your decision to not read Aerie. We couldn’t even finish Magonia and as for Rick Riordan…..we have to be in the right mood to read his stuff.

Duo author books always seem so generic to me because the lack in a true voice that the author brings to the book! I think the issue with a lot of Rick’s new books is that instead of actual humor he relies on outdated pop culture references to make his books funny.

Collabs can be really hit or miss. I generally just keep the hell away. Twilight…I feel like I need to read it, you know? Like it’s some YA phenomenon.

With Twilight it’s like reading it now is to almost confirm that’s you don’t like it. Who knows? Perhaps I would like it 😂

Great Top 5! 😀 You are right not to read Bloodlines! I should have listened to myself, and stayed away. but no…I was so caught up in the goodness that was Rose Hathaway, that I picked the series up anyway…All I was left with was disappointment! 😦

Aww that’s sad to hear! I actually didn’t really like Rose, but I still don’t think I’ll ever pick up the Bloodlines series.
