Month In Review | May & June 2017 AKA The Month Where Life Exploded

May_June

Hello all you lovely bookworms! It’s now officially July and hopefully you’re surviving the hot weather (or cold, depending on your hemisphere)! It doesn’t even get that hot where I live, but I do not enjoy warm weather. So, I’m personally excited for fall already. Since I never got around to posting my wrap up for May, and I’ve done so little reading over the last two months, I figured I would just combine them into one.

BOOKS

Throughout the last two months, I only managed to get through four books. A bit depressing isn’t it? Oh well, I have plenty of time to catch up on reading in the next few months!

May & June Books

  • Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson | ★★★★★ | SO MUCH BADASS-ERY
  • Nimona by Noelle Stevenson | ★★★★★ | Sharks, laughs, emotional
  • One Year Left by J.C. Robinson | ★☆☆☆☆ | Quite awkward overall
  • The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson | ★★★★★ | ALL THE EMOTIONS

I am currently reading three books; The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson, A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, and Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. Considering all of these books are over 700 pages, I’m actually not too upset about the amount of books I’ve read recently.

BLOGGING

Hi all, remember me? Yeah I thought so. I’ve been such a bad blogger recently, and I apologize for that.

LIFE

Look, it’s me!

So, as you may have gleaned from the title of the post, I had some pretty big changes in my life over the last few months. The biggest change was the fact that I graduated high school (and college with my two year degree) in June! All I can say is… finally. I’m so excited to start a brand new chapter in my life and head off to university in the fall! Although, I sadly can’t bring many books to university with me (likely only 5-6), which is quite sad. I guess I’m going to be using my e-reader even more than I already do over the next few year!

As many of you likely know, with graduation comes the end of many things. For me, the biggest ending was my four year career in the band program at my school. My final concert with the band was an emotional one, but a fantastic end for me. However, I’m already looking into my future, and I can’t be more pumped!

On a totally unrelated note, ZZ Ward just released her new album and I’m obsessed with it. Anyone else listen to her?

    1. Strange the Dreamer is on my TBR for the summer, I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about it! ADSOM series also gets so much better with each book, like ACOL will kill you (in a good way). Thank you so much! 😆

  1. Bitter sweet. Saying goodbye to things you know, but saying hello to so many good things. Congratulations! Those are 3 large books to juggle all at once. Yikes! I still need to get/read LoS. Soon, soon. Can’t beat the eReader. I have 2000 books on this little thing.

  3. Lots of bloggers are graduating this year — but CONGRATS!!! It must feel amazing. My favorite reads recently are The Female of the Species, and This Savage Song. SO SO GOOD. Looking forward to seeing your posts this month, and happy July! 🙂

    1. It does feel absolutely amazing! You’ll get there quicker than you think, May 😉 I haven’t heard of The Female of the Species, but the title has me intrigued! Oh my gosh, I need to read This Savage Song SO BAD. Happy July to you as well 😄

  4. Congratulations on your graduation! I hope university life treats you well 😉 I know it’s a little bittersweet, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy college and meeting new people. I found it to be an extremely memorable and rewarding experience. Hope it’s the same for you! And four books isn’t bad at all! At least you read three really good books. I’m curious about that One Year Left though haha. Also, it’s crazy you’re reading three book at once, but at least they’re good ones. I absolutely adored Lord of Shadows. Can’t wait to see your thoughts on it, especially after that ending…Glad to see you back in the blogoshpere! 😀

    1. Thank you so much Azia, and I’m glad to be back! I absolutely can’t wait for University, and I’m glad it was such a rewarding experience for you. I’m planning on having my review up for One Year Left next week sometime, but yes… it was an experience haha. I know three books is a bit crazy, but I like jumping around to keep myself interested… Although if the end of LoS is crazy, it may get bumped up!
