Hello all, and welcome back to the blog! Recently, I was nominated for the Liebster Award by the very lovely Moz at The Cracked Spine. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Be sure and pop on over their blog to say hello. I’ve done this award a few times in the past, but I have so much fun answering questions you all come up with, and then creating my own questions. So obviously, that leads to me giving this another go.
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Answer the 11 questions they wrote for you.
- Nominate 11 people.
- Give them 11 different questions to answer!
Hey all! I just wanted to write this super quick post to announce something. In my 2017 goals, I mentioned that it might be fun to try out Twitter! So many other bloggers use it and really seem to enjoy it. I’ve never used it, because I used to not like Twitter itself, but let’s give it a go.
So, I’m a complete and utter noob at it, but you can follow me @bookishteacups! Unfortunately, Bookishthingsandtea was too long of a username, so I went with the same username that I use for my Instagram. Anyways, I don’t even have a first tweet yet, but come say hi!
Either let me know your Twitter handle in the comments, or pop on over to my new Twitter so that I can find my bookish people to follow. I think I’ll do some blog hoping right now to hunt some Twitter people down…
Much love, and talk (or Tweet!) to you all very soon!
To kick off the new year, I have some thanks to give. Particularly, thanks to each and every one of you all! I recently just hit 500 followers- which is huge for me. I still can not believe it, so I wanted to take some time and say… thank you all, I love all of you like crazy!
I never thought that my blog would grow so much in the amount of time that I’ve been blogging, and I’d never thought that I’d be writing a post like this. I started my blog for fun, honestly not even expecting people to read it that much. What seems like a second later, people are telling me that my blog is an inspiration to them??
In honor of that, I’d like to try and do a Q+A! I’ve never tried to do one of these before, so let’s hope it goes well.
- You can ask me any question you want, book, school, or life related (I have no preference).
- Feel free to ask as many questions as you want.
- As of right now, I have the answer post scheduled for next Monday, so you have a week!
- Be as creative or weird as your heart desires when coming up with questions.
So, go wild in the comments (I hope!) and once again, thank you so so much for all your love and support. ❤
Way back in 2014, when I was a small and slightly dumb blogger I thought I’d be funny and do a top 14 books for 2014 (get it?), instead of a top 10. I decided to carry on the tradition throughout the next several years, although as the year number gets larger, I start to regret it more and more.
You can see my top 14 for 2014 here, or even my top 15 for 2015 here!
However, we’re still going, and today I’d like to present my top 16 favorite reads for 2016! I’m not going to lie, I did struggle to come up with 16 books, but a very nice list emerged! The books will be listed in decreasing order, leading up to my #1 book of the year.
The countdown to 2017 has begun, and goals are being created all over the world. So, with just over a week left in 2016 (finally!), I wanted to share with you my bookish and blogging goals for this upcoming year.
The goals I had set in 2016 were quite broad, and I would say I accomplished most of them, at least to some extent. However, the goals for this upcoming year are much more specific, and I actually want to strive to accomplish them.
As we approach the end of 2016, there are still a few things I want to get done, book/blogging wise. On of those was to completely reorganize my bookshelf by taking everything off, donating what books I no longer want/need, and putting it all back up.
So, on this lazy Sunday, that’s exactly what I did. My shelves now look so beautiful, plus I have almost an entire empty shelf for new books! How exciting is that? I also thought it would be fun to take you all through the process and show off some pictures of before and after, considering that I’ve never actually shown any pictures of my shelves. Hello all! Today, I’m so very grateful to be participating in a cover reveal for a new, up and coming book called Deceived by Heena Rathore P! I’m a big fan of the final cover, as it fits the blurb (and likely the story) quite well. It’s haunting and enticing, and the part that pulls me in the most is the blood dripping down the legs. What does it mean?
Deceived will be published in February 2017 by Citrus Publishers.
How well do you know your loved ones?
A girl who’s trying to cope with the murders of her mother and five-year-old brother.
A journalist who is chasing the ghost of a potential serial killer.
A thirteen-year-old girl who slaughters her parents.
And a revenge-driven psychopath who is about to destroy everyone’s life.
A psychological thriller that weaves its way through the sadistic past of a traumatized child to the snare of dark mysteries of a beloved father.

Are you in that awful situation of never knowing what to read next? Looking at your bookshelf with no idea what to pick up? Well I’m now here to help by recommending some amazing books for you to pick up and read.
I’ve never really done book recommendations on my blog, I suppose my reviews stand in for that, but I thought it would be fun to showcase some of my favorites, especially the books I read before starting blogging. We’ll split this into different genre categories, so let’s get going. The book covers will also link to the Goodreads page! Continue reading
Today is a very special day for me, as it marks the anniversary of when I made my blog. What’s pretty crazy this year is that I’ve been blogging for two whole years now.
Wow, that’s so insane.
I can’t believe that two years have passed already, so whether you’ve been around for all of those two years or if you’re new to my blog, thank you so, so much for being there. I honestly appreciate every follow, like, and comment that my blog receives, and I’d never thought that I’d reach this far. I’m not normally a person who stays committed to something like this for long, but here we are. Who would’ve thought that the thing I started on a whim would grow to be this important to me.
Here’s a fun little fact. In two years I’ve managed to post 206 times, 71 of which have been book reviews! I absolutely love writing book reviews, they are by far my favorite posts to write so I’m glad that you all seem to enjoy them as well.
I’d also like to take this time to mention that I just hit 300 followers a few days ago, and it seems appropriate to thank you here. Because I feel like I don’t always say it enough, but you all are amazing.
Basically, this post is just to say how much I appreciate and love the book blogging community (let’s face it, the best internet community out there) and I can’t wait to continue blogging after this! Who knows what the next year will bring?
